Today I have a lovely treat for you! Carol, the editor of one of the UK’s top wedding blogs, Aspirational Bride is sharing her Top 5 UK Wedding Trends 2015.
Without further ado, take it away Carol.
As editor of leading UK wedding blog Aspirational Bride, my job is to keep up with the latest wedding trends. This can be a tricky task as it’s important to establish when a ‘fad’ becomes a ‘trend’. For me the difference between the two is simply that a ‘fad’ tends to affect one industry only e.g. the confectionery industry, whereas a ‘trend’ can be seen across several industries…
So, here we go with the Aspirational Bride Guide to the top 5 wedding trends for 2015…
1. Boho Chic
If you’re a laid-back bride, then a Boho Chic wedding could definitely be for you! Think open fields or gardens for the setting and add details such as picnic dining, tepees, hand-drawn invitations – and get guests to dress as if they’re off to Woodstock! Boho has been around for a while and doesn’t look like disappearing, largely due to the fact it works with the current love for rustic/countryside inspired weddings – add lots of flower filled miniature wheelbarrows and bunting!
2. Different Dining
Food and drink still takes centre stage at weddings and the trend is simply to offer something different to the normal wedding reception menus to your guests might have seen before! It certainly gets a little more outrageous in 2015. Our personal favourites are hanging salad stations and doughnut dessert walls, complete with beer gardens!
3. Royal Colour Palettes
This year’s tones are set by Pantone’s colour of the year ‘Marsala’. It’s a really rich wine red which is stylish and incredibly versatile. It can be paired with dusty blues for romance or rose gold (also very ‘on trend’) for understated glamour.
4. Sequins and Sparkle
Sparkle and shimmer continue to be big for weddings, but as with many trends – less is more! Try to keep this influence subtle, pair rose gold with pink and white, or a sparkly clutch bag teamed with plainer accessories which won’t compromise the overall look of sleek elegance… Sequinned tablecloths and runners are great but be careful not to overuse. Runners with your floral designs look elegant and sophisticated but keep the blooms in neutral shades, roses and peonies work really well.
A shimmery tablecloth for your cake table can really show off your style perfectly, and works particularly well with a large simple cake.
Love it or loathe it, chintz has arrived! You will see chintz patterns on wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, shoes and even handkerchiefs and ties for the groom – especially during the coming summer months!
Whatever trend you decide to follow, or if you are intending to carve your own style (and possibly set a new trend!), have a wonderful wedding!

I personally LOVE the Eme di Eme wedding Chinz dress above, it is so feminine. And a donut wall – yes please!
I hope these Top 5 UK wedding trends 2015 have given you some gorgeous inspiration!
